About GLA University

In the year 1991 Shri Narayan Das Agrawal decided to fulfil the dream of his father, Late Shri Ganeshi Lal Agrawal and initiated the Sri Jagannath Prasad Ganeshi Lal Bajaj Charitable Trust Samiti in an attempt to make the holy city of Mathura a recognized destination for knowledge seekers from different walks of life. This is what led to the foundation of a milestone at the karmabhoomi of the versatile and sagacious Lord Krishna. GLA has been actively involved with social causes since its very inception and has drawn appreciation from one and all for its work in various facets of societal paradigms.

About Institute of Pharmaceutical Research

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Research, GLA University, Mathura started its journey in the year 2006 with the name of GLA Institute of Pharmaceutical Research affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. The Institute is approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. In the year 2010 the institute became a part of University offering diploma in Pharmacy as well as B.Pharm., M.Pharm., Ph.D.

About Mathura

Mathura is a holy city for Hinduism, the world's third-largest religion which is located at the bank of river Yamuna. There are many places of historic and religious importance in Mathura and its neighbouring towns. The twin-city to Mathura is Vrindavan. As the home of the deity Lord Krishna in his youth, the small town is host to a multitude of temples belonging to various sects of Hinduism proclaiming Krishna in various forms and avatars. It is one of the Sapta Puri, the seven cities considered holy by Hindus. Mathura has contributed a lot towards Indian Culture through its rich heritage. The Braj culture has been expressed widely through various practices. Sanjhee is the colourful art of decorating the ground with flowers. Mathura has been chosen as one of the heritage cities for Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana scheme of Government of India.
